Good On'Ya

It's only natural for a woman to come back from Paris with a perfect Parisian treat...perfume!

So here it is; a deliciously, outrageously spicy yet floral parfum, meant for the adventurous sophisticated type. Quite the fitting scent for fall and winter.

Unfortunately, I don't believe it's available in the states yet. However, you may be able to order online. I payed 38 euro for my 1.7oz bottle. Gives you an idea...

Nina Ricci 'Ricci Ricci', Eau De Parfum

C'est bon! A job well done, Nina.

Bonjour Mes Amies!

I have finally arrived in the "City of Lights" with my family and it's absolutely heavenly! After a horrendous 24 hours of travel (arriving with NO luggage-- still back in LAX, go figure), we are sitting down for some much needed vin et fromage.

Very much looking forward to 10 days of vacation. Wishing the parents were here :)

So much beauty here, it's overwhelming. How will my blog do it justice? Will try and write more later...but cannot promise anything until post trip.

If anyone has any tips, do share! We will be galavanting around this splendid energetic city (without my speech abilities-- my French is a disaster; thank God for my sisters and bro)!

"...And the next day, you're out."

But Heidi is always oh so IN!

Happy {glorious} Friday, beauty bees!

I can't get enough of this woman and her show is even more addicting. Plus, her accent is absolutely adorable.

Besides the fact that she has some of the most stunning children, you can't help but notice her effortless fashion sense and beauty regimen. I mean, that face!

From simply straight blonde locks, to deep smoky soulful eyes, Heidi is a force to be reckoned with...and it doesn't hurt that she has an incredibly successful career (thanks mostly to that bod-ay!)

So enjoy that weekend of yours and take some tips from Ms. Klum. Keep it simple, but dare to be bold! Deep black eyeliner, red lips, peach cheeks, shimmery pearl eye dust.

Peace, love & Cheerios,

Puff Daddy

Do you ever have those mornings when you wake up after either a night of restless sleep or just the hardest, heaviest sleep of your life? I often experience both. And thus, I am faced with my own face in the mirror, staring grotesquely back at me. GASP!

OK, I am being a tad dramatic, but truly, I think most of us can relate to the puffy, swollen, tired eyes look-- and it's sadly all too real and discouraging. My lovely co-worker and struggle with the constant 'puff daddy' look and it's time to fix our little dilemma.

So let's try this:

Garnier Nutritioniste Skin Renew Anti-Puff Eye Roller, $13.49

Said to diminish circles and decongests puffiness. Combined with caffeine and pro-vitamin B5 to make your eyes look renewed and refreshed. It's small enough for travel, with a cool silver tip to roll gently on your lids.

Puff, be gone!

Alright, I'm sold. Maybe you are too.

Happy {60th} Birthday, Suzy Q

A very very happy birthday to one of my {many} dearest aunties, Suzy! As we like to call her in the family, "The Peacemaker." Born September 8, 1949 with a full head of blonde curly locks and a joker's smile, she is absolutely precious.

Check out the old school vintage shot from the early 50s. Her brothers (including my father) called her "Fuz" (the 's' for Suz was too difficult to pronounce).

A teacher by day, Irish charmer by night, aunt Suz never fails to impress us all with her beautiful freckles, beach blonde curls and always perfect pink gloss. A mighty combination. She's smart, loyal and incredibly loving. And even better? Her boisterous laugh and honest spirit.

You keep me smiling, Suzy Q. :)

Love you, always! xo,

Wear Your Whites!

Happy Labor Day weekend, all! Although they predict a monsoon of rain for all of the NW (would we expect anything different?), do be sure to grill some dogs and drinks some cocktails...all while wearing your white.

In honor of timeless and charming beauty, I give you Katharine Hepburn. I really heart her! Especially in classics like, Bringing Up Baby, Desk Set and Guess Who's Coming to Dinner?

I grew up on these movies, so if you haven't seen them, rent them! Perfect for a long, rainy, holiday weekend.

Toodles!

Vintage Beauty Now: Zooey

I love her movies, I love her Cotton commercials and I love her musical talents. But more than anything, I am really beginning to love her beauty.

Zooey Deschanel combines an interesting element of funky 60s glam, with old Hollywood vintage and her own flair.

The heavy mod bangs, yes! But even more so, the thick black cat eyeliner and peach or red lips is so beautifully vintage and timeless. A total gem!

She is beginning to create her own beauty iconicity and I'm falling for it. Most people can't pull this look off, but with her humor and wit, she is forever charming and gorgeous.

Her skin is always flawless, showing her true natural beauty.

And more than ever, I am dying to see her in the new summer blockbuster flick, (500) Days of Summer. I've heard it's quite the crowd pleaser.

Hats off to you, Zooey.

It's Still Tuesday...

...but my blog sparked a little bumble bee's beauty information. My one of TWO beautiful sisters sent me this:

"I forgot to tell you! When I got my hair done yesterday Tara (Morrissey) used this new product called Morrocan Oil that all the celebrities are using now. It makes your hair super shiny, dries quicker and doesn't weigh it down. It also makes you smell like you just stepped outside of an exotic spa. A small bottle retails around $18."

And this is what I found out:

This leave-in styling cream eliminates frizz, while adding definition and shine. The pure argan oil conditions and hydrates the hair. Moroccan Oil products use Argan Oil, which was named as one of the hottest ingredients for beauty products in the year 2009. This natural, restorative oil has been helping Moroccan women achieve beautiful, healthy hair for years, and is just gaining popularity in the United States.*

Large bottle retails at $30.
And if you live in the Tahoe/Reno area, check out Urban Angels Salon in Truckee, Ca. Via Maddy: "They are the hippest salon in the area - art deco, young ladies."

Thank you, sista! xx

It's Tuesday and I'm Trippin....

{Christopher Halloran Photography}

After a lovely extended weekend I'm back to the grindstone and my brain is all over the place!

But I will say I received some excellent news from my favorite, YBB (http://www.yellowbrickblog.blogspot.com/) this morning that I won a $50 gift card to GAP! Woo hoo! This will be a handy gift to finish up on my shopping before jetting off to Paris with my sisters and aunt.

In other news, please DO check out my girlfriends' blogs, from fashion and wedding details, to the best food in Portland. Sorry, had to give a shout out to my girls!

Beauty do of the day: In this dry, somewhat unenthusiastic weather, load up on the hairspray. My favorite? TRESemme Tres Two in Extra Hold, $4. Hefty, but not sticky. I swear by it.

I'll be back with some real stuff tomorrow. Enjoy your Tuesday!
