i am, alas, back at work.

missing home and my parents very much.

spending Christmas in Sacramento with the parents, minus a few:
our brother, other dear sister and her hubby.

but still so glad the sky is blue and our plane can jet!

I absolutely love Pour Wine Bar in NE Portland on Broadway and 28th. I can taste that merlot cabernet as we speak... I die.

Totally quaint, with a hip mod feel and a plethora of wines...plus very nice service!

Happy {60th} Birthday, Suzy Q

A very very happy birthday to one of my {many} dearest aunties, Suzy! As we like to call her in the family, "The Peacemaker." Born September 8, 1949 with a full head of blonde curly locks and a joker's smile, she is absolutely precious.

Check out the old school vintage shot from the early 50s. Her brothers (including my father) called her "Fuz" (the 's' for Suz was too difficult to pronounce).

A teacher by day, Irish charmer by night, aunt Suz never fails to impress us all with her beautiful freckles, beach blonde curls and always perfect pink gloss. A mighty combination. She's smart, loyal and incredibly loving. And even better? Her boisterous laugh and honest spirit.

You keep me smiling, Suzy Q. :)

Happy {freaking} Anniversary!

A quick and most congratulatory happy anniversary (August 16th, 2008) to M&M Guzzo; my beautiful sister and fabulous second brother.

How quickly the first year has flown and I wish you all the happiness, gut aching laughter (which is sure for these two) and health in the world. On to another fantastic year! And can I just say, what a stunning couple are they? Quite the blend of genes to make some great lookin' babies :)

I remember this day so fondly; I even helped my sister with her makeup! (sorry, I had to put in a little plug). This photo doesn't even do justice to the beauty of the night.

I love you, Guzzos! And as my favorite signing out line: "Live long and prosper" xox

I'm leaving on a jet plane...

...and off to California to visit the parents with my best friend and sisters! Couldn't ask for a better trip. But more than my urge to lay by the pool, sip mojitos and eat my sister's glorious guacamole, I'm dying to take our usual trip to WALGREENS.

Most do not understand this obsession and love for Walgreens-- most of my friends act puzzled and confused when I get sweaty and excited about entering a Walgreens and shopping for all beauty necessities. I'm telling you-- try it out.

I don't think I have ever left that store without spending at least $60. It is the $60 rule. My sisters, cousins and aunt follow this as well. Things are inexpensive, there is a multitude of products to choose from, and I can always pick up a beauty magazine or chocolate bar on the way out.

As I finish packing my bag and mentally gearing up for a sun soaked weekend, I will be sure to update you on my trip to Walgreens and really go in to what makes this place so special and your best beauty finds. Coming up soon this afternoon...so watch out!
