hello, friends.

hi there. my name is beebs and im a stripe-aholic.
call me crazy, but i just can't get enough. stripes stripes and more stripes. (clothing, decor and accessories). but i digress. to follow my dear friend over at mangia, i thought i would write myself a little summer must-do list. here goes.

eat the best burger in town.
learn how to paddle board (and sail and wakeboard...ok, all water sports)
go berry picking. and eat lots of fruit.
bike to work a few times a month (+)
check off 5 books from my summer reading list (whilst in the sun!)
take lots of pictures (and frame them).
stop biting my nails.
procure more striped items in my wardrobe.
wear plenty of sunscreen (no burns this summer, please!)
vacay at the oregon coast.
go antiquing like a mad woman.
find my next perfect perfume.

what about your summer must-do's? any beauty must haves?

wednesday: : loveliness

how lovely is this shot? (although somewhat 'out of season' for right now). but that dress...to die for. it's finally feeling like the summer months here in the NW; warm air, sunny skies and ice cream galore. much too much going on at work this week, so i will try to post when i can. otherwise, wear your spf and enjoy the loveliness this week!

coral crushes

i've got a thing. a thing for lipstick. not that i wear it all that often, but when i come across a fabu color, it usually makes it way into my purse/makeup bag. i have an entire diddy bag devoted to just my lip gloss, lipstick, liners, lip pens and lip crayons. matte, glossy, red, purple and pink. i've pretty much got 'em all. and now...i'm onto the orange ones. my skin may not be the best fit for the orange tones, however, you can mix and play with many. although it's rainy cats and dogs outside my pathetic excuse for a window at work, these colors evoke the meaning of summer.
one affordable shtick i do recommend:

Maybelline's Coral Crush, $6
a delightful blend of red and orange.
try it out!

Josie Does Organic

{via}

josie maran (model and entrepreneur) has a fantastic organic makeup line that i have been dying to try. from natural oils, to skin perfect bronzer and ethereal shadows, she seems to have a beautiful and delicate vision for the female face. nothing overly dramatic- only soft femininity. plus, none of those toxic chemicals that come with the makeup we love so much (sad).

not the most frugal of finds, however, spending an itty bitty more for natural and safe products is worth my extra, hard earned dollar ($$) bills.

summer set for 2010

tinted moisturizer, $38
natural volume lip gloss is precious, $20
eyeshadow in cinnamon, $20
argan oil, $48

im especially interested in experimenting with the argan oil- lightweight and safe for your face as a daily moisturizer, hair (split ends, gag) and cuticles. sounds devoooon!

Eyebrows I Covet

thick, beautifully arched, and striking.
i love them even more when colored in dark.
some may disagree, but then i say, you're a fool.

check out this stalk blog
(maybe not the most useful of your time, but it's addicting).

"I Die"

Yesterday was a horrendous, horrendous work day, so I apologize for the lack of a blog update. Shame on you, Beebs.
However, my best girls and I topped off the night with a fabulous dinner at Ping for Ms. MacMillen's 24th Birthday! Delish.
So... I need a little inspiration--not to mention I haven't treated myself to some killer beauty products in a while...so I'm feeling a bit bogged down. Hello MAC, where are you!?
I found this look from another blog and my oh my, it's to die for.

{judiciaryreport}

"I Die." (We all love Rachel Zoe, do we not!?)

Try this look with any deep matte blue you can find-- MAC, Loreal, CoverGirl etc. Keep the lips nude and cheeks fair.

Peace, Love & Cheerios,

So Divine

{carriecouture}

It is pretty much a fact that I am totally in LOVE with J.Crew!

These crew cuts have truly stepped it up in that past couple of years. Not to mention the overly depressing yet beautifully-addicting catalog, especially this 2009 November issue.

Plus, I die over those red peachy lips!

{jcrewaholics}

As always, check the website for fabulous inspiration: http://www.jcrew.com/
Pretty pretty.
{carriecouture}

But I also found a fantastic blog for all those addicted to everything j.crew-- click the blog title "So Divine" above.
Indulge in the divine.

Vintage Beauty Now: Zooey

I love her movies, I love her Cotton commercials and I love her musical talents. But more than anything, I am really beginning to love her beauty.

Zooey Deschanel combines an interesting element of funky 60s glam, with old Hollywood vintage and her own flair.

The heavy mod bangs, yes! But even more so, the thick black cat eyeliner and peach or red lips is so beautifully vintage and timeless. A total gem!

She is beginning to create her own beauty iconicity and I'm falling for it. Most people can't pull this look off, but with her humor and wit, she is forever charming and gorgeous.

Her skin is always flawless, showing her true natural beauty.

And more than ever, I am dying to see her in the new summer blockbuster flick, (500) Days of Summer. I've heard it's quite the crowd pleaser.

Hats off to you, Zooey.

MAC: Color Me Giddy

MAC Cosmetics keeps hitting the high notes with their current ad campaigns. Below my quaint NW apartment sits the newly renovated and grand opening of the MAC Store and it's already buzzing with cosmetic obsessed buyers.

And what is even more appealing? The ads. Below are my two favorite. Now this is the way to a girls makeup-loving heart; color and creativity. Makes a girl dream...

Lastly, I'm dying to experiment with their new line, Naked Honey. Hullo! Look at that dripping sticky honey down her arm. It's said to be the perfect mix of natural tones for all skin types. What's a queen bee to do? ;) Yes, please!

Back to my beehive...
